Djuric: Becirovic has shown the true face of the regional campaign against Serbia

Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric today condemned the statements made by the Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Becirovic, regarding Serbia, stating that they reveal the true face of the regional campaign against Serbia, exposing who the real destabilizing factors are and who is bothered by a strong and stable Serbia.

"I strongly reject the senseless and malicious accusations of Denis Becirovic. Serbia is not only a signatory of the Dayton Agreement – we are its guarantor, responsible and obligated to ensure its full implementation," Djuric stated in a written statement.

He emphasized that no one can take away Serbia’s right to do so, and that anyone attempting to exclude Serbia from this process is acting against international law and regional stability.

Djuric reminded that Republic of Srpska is an integral part of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that Serbia has both the right and the obligation to defend its jurisdiction from those seeking to undermine the Dayton Agreement.

"Becirovic and his like-minded allies are not attacking Serbia out of principle – their real target is Aleksandar Vucic, the man who refuses to allow Serbia to be humiliated and silenced. This is precisely why the increasingly aggressive attacks on our country and its leadership are coming from the same centers that want Serbia to be weak and submissive," Djuric added.

He also stated that those who think they can weaken Serbia through political pressure are "gravely mistaken," as Serbia will continue to defend Dayton, protect Republic of Srpska, and expose the hypocrisy of those who, as he put it, try to conceal their own failures with false claims about alleged interference from Belgrade.

"But there is no doubt anymore – this is not subtle or covert interference in Serbia’s internal affairs. With his words, Becirovic has directly entered the Serbian political scene, revealing the true face of the regional campaign against Serbia. His attacks only further expose who the real destabilizing factors are and who is bothered by a strong and stable Serbia. Let the people of Serbia remember these words well – now everything is completely clear," Minister Djuric concluded.
