Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric stated at the “Serbia-Africa 2024: Dignity” conference held today in Belgrade that the event represents a significant step toward strengthening political and security ties between Serbia and African countries and symbolizes a shared commitment to mutual respect, solidarity, and cooperation.

“This gathering highlights the historical connections between Serbia and the African continent, rooted in shared struggles for sovereignty and dignity. It is a great honor to host representatives from 40 African countries, united by the principles of equality and partnership,” Djuric noted.

He emphasized that today’s discussions had been productive and future-oriented, covering key topics such as sustainable development, investments, technology transfer, and cultural exchange.

The participants, he added, reaffirmed their commitment to building partnerships that promote economic growth, enhance education, and ensure dignity for all people.

Djuric affirmed Serbia’s readiness to be a reliable partner to African nations.

“We are ready to share our knowledge and experience, as well as to learn from the innovative approaches of our friends in Africa, as we jointly face global challenges such as climate change and food security. The ‘Dignity’ conference is not just a moment for reflection but also a call to action. It provides an opportunity to strengthen our ties, inspire cooperation, and advocate for a world where every country, regardless of size or geographic location, has an equal voice in shaping our shared future,” the Serbian foreign minister said.

He expressed gratitude to African partners for their trust and commitment to partnership with Serbia.

“Together, we are sending a powerful message to the world: dignity is not a privilege – it is a universal right,” Djuric concluded.
