The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Marko Djuric, met today with the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Hungarian Parliament, Zsolt Németh, and, speaking about Kosovo, conveyed that Belgrade is striving to fulfil its obligations, while expecting that international actors will influence the authorities in Pristina so that their representatives likewise begin to act in the same manner.

Djuric “expressed gratitude for the significant understanding and support regarding certain positions related to the southern autonomous province of Serbia,” the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

The head of Serbian diplomacy also thanked Hungary for its consistent and strong support in Serbia’s European integration process, emphasizing that the European Union is not complete without Serbia and the Western Balkans region, and that Serbia is committed to becoming an equal and full member of the European Union in the most dignified manner.

Djuric and Németh discussed the most important current issues of mutual interest with a view to further enhancing cooperation, noting jointly that bilateral relations, in terms of both quality and intensity, have reached a historic peak over the past 15 years.

Minister Djuric underlined that cooperation in the fields of economy, energy, energy security and diversification of energy sources, infrastructure connectivity, digitalization, culture, as well as other areas, is of exceptional importance for Serbia, adding that the role and favorable position of national minorities in both countries significantly contribute to mutual understanding and cooperation at the highest possible level.
