Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Djuric met today, on the margins of the Munich Security Conference, with OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu, to whom he underscored the importance of maintaining the presence and activities of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo at full capacity, given the complex circumstances in which the Serbian people find themselves.

Djuric and Sinirlioğlu discussed current security challenges in Europe and the broader region, and also addressed the role of the OSCE amid the evolving dynamics of international relations.

The Minister emphasized that at a time when the very structure of the international system is being called into question, dialogue has no alternative, and respect for international law constitutes the only reliable foundation for stability.

The head of Serbian diplomacy stressed that, for Serbia, the OSCE— as a comprehensive platform— retains its relevance and importance, and that the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity, enshrined in the Helsinki Final Act, remain fundamental principles for which Serbia consistently advocates.

Djuric reiterated Serbia’s readiness to continue close cooperation with the OSCE Mission to Serbia across all areas of its mandate, expressing confidence that institutional cooperation and capacity-building efforts contribute to strengthening democratic standards and the rule of law.

Speaking about the situation in Kosovo, Djuric pointed to the importance of maintaining the presence and activities of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo at full capacity, in light of the complex circumstances facing the Serbian population.

He emphasized that it is of utmost importance to preserve all programmes and mechanisms of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo aimed at protecting the rights and security of non-Albanian communities, and that any attempt at their marginalization must be prevented.

Addressing regional issues, Djuric reiterated that Serbia remains firmly committed to preserving peace and stability in the region as a key prerequisite for economic development and overall prosperity.

Serbia will continue to act as a constructive and reliable partner, committed to cooperation, confidence-building, and the stabilization of conditions in its immediate neighbourhood, Minister Djuric concluded.
