Milovan Drecun, the President of the Committee for Kosovo and Metohija, has stated that the initiative to open the bridge on the Ibar River is part of preparations for the occupation of northern Kosovo planned by Albin Kurti, RTV reports.

"There is certainly a police-military operation planned for the north if the Western countries allow it. Serious preparations are underway, and participation in this military exercise involving Kosovo forces is all part of the preparation. When offensive actions are practiced, it tells you that something is being prepared," Drecun assessed during his appearance on Pink TV.

He added that the Pristina authorities want to divide and break the Serbs who would oppose something on multiple fronts.

"They could enter from as many as four directions in one mobile operation, and the Serbs would not be able to protest. I see the opening of the bridge on the Ibar River as the main direction of attack; it is the main street leading to the center of Kosovska Mitrovica," Drecun said.

He stated that the attitude of the West towards the Serbian people in northern Kosovo is such that they do not respect the Serbs, nor do they respect their electoral will.

"They treat Serbs as second-class citizens; they do not care about their survival or their perspective. As far as they are concerned, there would be no Serbs. It is a relationship without any respect, and that is why Kurti behaves the way he does. You have over 330 ethnically motivated attacks on the Serbian people, and then you have the American report saying 'Kosovo is progressing,'" Drecun said.

Drecun emphasized that President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic had sent a clear message in Ohrid and at the rally in Pancevo a few days ago: "I will not give up Kosovo and Metohija," and that this is not just the stance of the president but of the Serbian people as a whole.

"The message of the President and the entire Serbian people is 'I will not give up Kosovo and Metohija.' Serbia will remain politically stable, even though others would prefer it to collapse and lack the capacity to preserve Kosovo," Drecun said.

According to him, Kurti's goal is not to participate in negotiations and dialogue but to carry out "another action," to continue pressuring Belgrade by terrorizing the Serbian people in Kosovo.

"They lacked air support, but now, with the acquisition of these drones, that is ensured. Alongside the training they are going through, they are training 1,300 people to be operational with NATO. Clearly, they are preparing to do something violent in northern Kosovo," Drecun assessed.

"Their goal is to carry out another action, not to participate in dialogue and negotiations. It is all part of the pressure on Belgrade. When someone terrorizes the Serbian people, confiscates their property, and destroys their economic prospects, that is when Belgrade becomes very sensitive," Drecun indicated.
