The German Embassy in Pristina stated that it is concerned about political parties being excluded from the electoral process in Kosovo, adding that it welcomes the Serb List’s decision to appeal to the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel, Nacionale reports.

“We are concerned that political parties are being excluded from the elections. As in February, when the CEC also refused to certify the Serb List, the Serb List will now appeal through the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel. We welcome this step. All parties that meet the necessary conditions and comply with the laws of Kosovo should have the opportunity to participate in democratic elections. We expect all parties to respect the procedural order based on the rules in order to ensure a transparent and inclusive electoral process,” it is stated in the German Embassy's response for Nacionale.

At yesterday’s CEC meeting, members of the Self-Determination Movement voted against certifying the Serb List for the October 12 local elections, while the Democratic Party of Kosovo, the Democratic League of Kosovo, and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo abstained.

Only Serb List member Gordana Laban and CEC President Kreshnik Radoniqi voted in favor of certification for the Serb List.
