The Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yvan Gil Pinto, stated in an interview with Kosovo Online that the issue of Kosovo should be resolved exclusively through respect for the norms within the United Nations.

"We always advocate for problems to be resolved within the United Nations. We call upon all states to respect the rules and regulations within the framework of the UN. That is the only way to solve the problems," the head of Venezuelan diplomacy stated.

When asked whether the Venezuelan Government supports the proposal of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic for an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council regarding the current situation in Kosovo, Pinto emphasized the importance of UN Security Council Resolution 1244 and that it needed to be respected.

"We have Security Council Resolution 1244, and the only way is to respect that resolution. However, people from Kosovo institutions do not respect it. Yes, that is the only way to find a solution," Gil Pinto said.

The Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs arrived in Serbia yesterday for a visit, where he met with President Aleksandar Vucic, Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic.

After the meetings with the Serbian leadership, Pinto also participated in a panel discussion organized by the "Club for Social Relations" at the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade, titled "Foreign Policy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Social Impact of Unilateral Coercion."

During the event, the Venezuelan minister addressed the students of the Belgrade faculty, discussing the similarities between the situations in Venezuela and Serbia regarding Kosovo, the impact of US sanctions on Venezuela, and the role of the European Union in these matters.
