Gruda: Prosecution should hear Kurti and Haxhiu about the Dehari case, they rule Kosovo with totalitarian methods

At a press conference, the official of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Perparim Gruda, asked for a clarification of blood samples disappearance from the Institute of Forensic Medicine, in the case of Astrit Dehari's death investigation. Gruda asked the prosecutor's office to hear Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Minister of Justice Albulena Haxhiu after the publication of new facts and government interventions in this case, as reported by Reporteri.

"The Dehari case is a tragic case, which cannot be further politicized, and that's why we ask the state prosecutor to hear Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Haxhiu so that it can finally be found how the blood samples disappeared in the Dehari case and so that we can find the truth," Gruda said.

According to Gruda, Prime Minister Kurti and Minister Haxhiu should explain to the public why they remain silent against the accusations that directly involve them in the crime of the disappearance of samples from the Dehari case.

"Recently, public opinion has been informed about new facts regarding the disappearance of samples from the Institute for Forensic Medicine at the Ministry of Justice. The allegations include Prime Minister Kurti and Minister of Justice Albulena Haxhiu as participants in the disappearance of these samples from the Institute for Forensic Medicine," Gruda says.

Gruda added that Kurti and Minister Haxhiu should clarify what they knew about the disappearance of the samples, and what they had done so far in order to reveal the full truth and the circumstances of the disappearance of this evidence and to explain why they were silent on the accusations that directly implicated them in the evidence disappearance.

On behalf of the PDK, he expressed concern over Minister Haxhiu's continuous attacks on independent judicial bodies, adding that in this way, the totalitarian mentality ruling Kosovo was revealed.

"At the court hearing where she was responsible for throwing tear gas, she put public pressure on the prosecutor, asking him to withdraw the indictment against her. 'Back off, it's not too late,' she told the prosecutor. When will Minister Haxhiu be punished? That is a question that we all should be asking. That cannot happen in a democratic country. We must not forget that, in addition to being accused in this case, she is also the Minister of Justice," Gruda pointed out.

He evaluated that Minister Haxhiu did not stop there, because after she, as the accused, ordered the prosecutor to withdraw, she attacked the opposition, saying that they should either cooperate with the authorities or remain silent, thus revealing the totalitarian method that rules Kosovo.

"To be clear, we will neither remain silent nor surrender," Gruda emphasized.
