MP of the Democratic League of Kosovo Avdullah Hoti stated in the Assembly of Kosovo that the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue has stalled, and that the Kosovo parliament should draft a new resolution on transparency in that process, given that the new chief negotiator Agron Bajrami will not have the opportunity to report to MPs on progress in the dialogue.

“During these months and years, there has been a standstill in managing this process, and this is not the first time we have mentioned it, as there was an agreement that this process should be directed toward a final agreement and mutual recognition, whereas now it has returned to what we have for years called a technical dialogue,” Hoti said.

According to him, what is concerning in the dialogue process is the lack of transparency toward the parliament and the citizens of Kosovo.

“I remember that in 2017 and 2019, when we were in opposition, together with Self-Determination we adopted resolutions requesting that the then prime minister ratify every meeting before and after,” Hoti said.

Hoti emphasized that the new chief negotiator in the dialogue, who is also ambassador in Brussels, Agron Bajrami, will not be able to submit reports to the Assembly of Kosovo, and that it is necessary to draft a new resolution on transparency in that process.

“I believe it is necessary for the Assembly to draft a new resolution on transparency toward the Assembly of Kosovo and its citizens,” Hoti said.
