Hovenier: The US is deeply concerned about the initial denial of the incident in which a Kosovan Serb was shot

Regarding the wounding of a Serb, Milan Jovanovic, by the Kosovo Police, the American ambassador in Pristina, Jeff Hovenier, also spoke out, he wrote on Twitter that the US was concerned about the incident in which, as he stated, a Kosovan Serb was shot in Zvecan.

Hovenier stated that Kosovo Police officials and institutions had to conduct a thorough, credible investigation.

"We are deeply concerned about the initial denial made without due diligence. All citizens must have confidence in the transparency of law enforcement and the justice sector. The US support for Kosovo’s rule of law institutions advances a shared vision of a democratic, multiethnic state. Those responsible for criminal actions must be held accountable.” Hovenier said.
