The President of Strpce Municipality, Dalibor Jevtic, visited the wounded Serbian boys Stefan and Milos Stojanovic in the hospital in Gracanica today and said that their wounding was not an accidental incident.

"Someone came intending to do what they did. I'm almost certain, and I conveyed that to the representatives of the international community with whom I spoke late last night, that this is no accident. No matter how much someone calls it an isolated incident, in my opinion, it is not," Jevtic said.

Jevtic conveyed part of the anger that, as he said, his fellow citizens felt, as well as himself.

"Instead of being with our families, we spent the day and evening protesting on the street, and that's not something we want. On the contrary, we want to live in peace and spend the holidays in peace. I believe that the competent authorities will do their job, but it shouldn't end with that, some in Pristina should think about that or start changing their rhetoric and attitude towards the Serbs. It is obvious that in addition to other parts of Kosovo, Sirincka Zupa has been a target of Albin Kurti since the day he came to power. Facts are proving it," Jevtic pointed out.

Jevtic mentioned that there were two people in the car during the shooting of the Stojanovics. Both of them were arrested, and one of them confessed to the crime.

"The most important thing for us is that Milos and Stefan are fine. Thank God, I would say, considering that it could have ended differently," Jevtic said.

Jevtic added that the Strpce citizens blocked the road after the wounding of Stefan and Milos and rightfully protested.

"It is a consequence not only of yesterday's event but of everything that has been happening for more than a year, not only in Strpce but throughout Kosovo and Metohija. The confirmation of this is the event in Klokot, where another young Serb, Stefan, was beaten last night," Jevtic said.

Jevtic notes that he spoke with his fellow citizens yesterday and with those whose responsibility was to take care of the citizens' safety, to whom he said it was time to understand that this was the last moment in which everyone should take responsibility.

"Just like those whose job is security, politicians and officials affect by their actions how members of the majority nation will treat the Serbian people who live in this area. I claim that since Albin Kurti has been in power, we have had an increased number of incidents," Jevtic noted.

He presented the information that those who shot at Stefan and Milos knew that the police patrol was further in the village, and that's why they went on the way to Prizren.

"This speaks volumes for the fact that if we had more patrols, it would certainly have deterred them from what they did. Our fellow citizens demand that we have KFOR patrols at the entrance and exit. We have guarantees that this will be the case, which is why we decided that the barricades would be removed," Jevtic said.

Jevtic confirmed that the Kosovo Police Special Force members were in Drajkovac last night, near Strpce, but they withdrew after the removal of barricades. He also added that after the shooting in Gotovusa, the suspects shot in Strpce and Brezovica, but they shot in the air.

Jevtic called on the Kosovo citizens to attend the protest in Strpce tomorrow.

"I want to believe, in the spirit of the holiday, that we will overcome the whole situation. And Stefan and Milos are determined to go for Christmas oak trees next year, as well. We will be there for the families but also the people. Because what we are looking for is peace and freedom and to be on our own," Jevtic concluded.

Together with Jevtic, the Serb List President Goran Rakic, and Gracanica Mayor Ljiljana Subaric, visited the wounded boys.
