Joksimovic: Bajrami at the “source of information” in Brussels, nothing vital is happening in the dialogue

The Director of the Center for Foreign Policy in Belgrade, Aleksandra Joksimovic, told Kosovo Online that the dialogue is currently not in full focus, bearing in mind the ongoing institutional crisis in Pristina, but also that it is possible that Agron Bajrami was appointed chief negotiator precisely because he is Kosovo’s ambassador in Brussels.

Joksimovic further states that in that context it is possible that Bajrami was appointed precisely because he is in Brussels, at the “source of information”, and can coordinate the level of dialogue that is currently taking place.

“So, this is not a high level, given the fact that the institutional crisis in Pristina has been ongoing for quite a long time,” our interlocutor says.

Asked what message this move sends to Brussels, but also to Belgrade, Joksimovic says that one can speculate, but also emphasizes:

“At this moment, almost nothing of vital importance is happening in this dialogue that would require a level involving stronger coordination or greater political weight of the person participating in the dialogue as a negotiator,” Aleksandra Joksimovic said.
