Kallas: Kosovo leaders need to engage constructively to ensure swift government formation

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said that after democratic and inclusive elections in Kosovo, political leaders must engage constructively to ensure the swift formation of a government, and that progress in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina remains necessary for Kosovo’s advancement on its European path.

Kallas wrote on the social network “X” that after more than a year of political deadlock in Kosovo, the door is opening to turn a new page.

“Democratic and inclusive elections in Kosovo open the door to turn the page after more than a year of political deadlock. Political leaders now need to engage constructively to ensure the swift formation of a government. Progress in the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and the normalization of relations with Serbia remain essential for advancing on Kosovo’s European path,” Kallas stated.
