KFOR denies Osmani's claims: We have not observed movement of Serbian troops along the administrative line
Although Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani spoke about the movement of Serbian forces along the border with Kosovo at the end of May 2025 — which, according to her, could have led to an escalation — KFOR has denied those claims in a statement to Gazeta Express.
“Recently, we have not observed any significant changes in the presence of the Serbian Armed Forces on the Serbian side along the administrative line. In accordance with existing procedures, the Serbian Armed Forces regularly inform KFOR about the deployment of their troops and operational activities near the administrative line,” KFOR’s media office stated.
They also emphasized that the KFOR Commander maintains regular communication with all security structures, including the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces.
“The KFOR Commander has regular communication with all of his counterparts, including representatives of security organizations in Kosovo and the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Major General Milan Mojsilovic. This helps us to protect and further improve our understanding of the situation,” KFOR stated.
They further stressed that KFOR continues to maintain a presence in the border area and is closely monitoring the situation.
In May, KFOR also refuted claims made by Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Acting Minister of Defense Ejup Maqedonci that the presence of Serbian forces along the administrative line had increased.
