Konjufca: There is no Draft Statute that Kosovo must implement; We do not have an agreement with Serbia

The President of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, told for Klan Kosova that it is not true that Kosovo must implement the draft EU statute for the Community of Serbian Municipalities and added that there is no agreement with Serbia, and that Serbia has violated the Ohrid Agreement.

Konjufca says that the draft Community statute cannot be considered a fait accompli.

According to him, there have been different drafts so far, but this one is different. However, it is not a done deal.

"This is due to the fact that Kosovo's position - as it seemed to me to be the fairest and clearest position, should be that the EU does not have this competence - the competence to write a draft for the Community for Kosovo. We repeat to them again that they do not have this right. Let's say that there is no draft which is a fait accompli that Kosovo must implement," said Konjufca.

He asked why Kosovo should implement the EU draft.

"Kosovo does not have an obligation according to the EU draft. I think it is so, because the EU cannot take responsibility from Kosovo," adds Konjufca.

As he says, it is also a mistake that Kosovo is writing the draft because it was agreed in 2013.

He also emphasizes that Kurti's government does not have an agreement with Serbia and adds that Serbia violated the Ohrid Agreement that was reached on March 18 this year.

"We don't have an agreement with Serbia and that further complicates the situation. In every action and at every step, Serbia violates the obligations it has undertaken. This is a violation of the basic Ohrid Agreement," he said.

Vucic is behind the attack in Banjska

Konjufca said that Vucic was behind the attacks on September 24 in Banjska and Zvecan.

He said that all the facts supported the fact that Vucic had known about the attack on September 24.

"It is true that it was a complicated and difficult year. First of all, because of the relations we have with Serbia. Serbia, which has decided to be very hostile towards Kosovo and which convinces us with every institutional and extra-institutional action that its main goal is for Kosovo to remain destabilized," Konjufca pointed out, adding that Serbia is making efforts to annex part of the territory of Kosovo.

He claims that the declaration of a day of mourning due to those events and other actions of Serbia, including the letter of the Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic to the EU, shows that Serbia does not respect the territorial integrity of Kosovo.

"Do you know what it means when a country submits a letter to another country in which it says it does not respect territorial integrity. I think that country shows that it is ready to start a war," said Konjufca.
