Kurti: EU measures are unfair; the government continues its path of the rule of law
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, says that the punitive measures introduced by the European Union against Kosovo are unfair, but that the Government continues its path without compromising the rule of law and constitutionality, Dukadjini reports.
Kurti, at the opening of the park in Shtime, said that he hoped that these measures would not last long because Kosovo needed support on its way forward.
"These are not sanctions, but they are indeed punitive measures and they are unjust because Kosovo and its government have the most democratic, pro-European, and advanced state and executive power. On the other hand, we have a constant confrontation with various forms of aggression from Serbia, which is an autocratic and pro-Russian state and which has not faced its criminal past in the territory of the former Yugoslavia, where it caused four wars. In any case, we are doing our job, but let's not forget that there can be no compromise with the rule of law or with the constitutionality of our country, so we will continue with the implementation of our Government program and we hope that these temporary measures will be very short because Kosovo is a country which needs support in further development," Kurti said.
