Former Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz stated that all agreements reached within the Serbia-Kosovo dialogue must be implemented while simultaneously ensuring the protection of the Serbian minority in Kosovo.

"My position on Kosovo has not changed since my time as Chancellor. I support the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, as well as the implementation of agreed measures. At the same time, it is essential to ensure the protection of the Serbian minority," Kurz pointed out in a statement for Kosovo Online.

He emphasized his belief that the EU will not be complete until the Western Balkan countries become part of it.

However, he expressed concern that significant progress is unlikely until the war in Ukraine comes to an end.

Speaking about the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kurz said he hopes for reasonable actions from all sides, adding that it is necessary to critically analyze the misguided developments of the past 30 years.

"I am following developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina and hope for rational decision-making from all parties," he stressed.

He also pointed out that Bosnia and Herzegovina’s territorial integrity and sovereignty must not be questioned.

Regarding the geopolitical situation, Kurz noted that the talks between Russia and the US, as well as the exchange of prisoners, represent a first step toward de-escalation.

"The fact that the EU is not at the negotiating table is its own mistake, as Brussels refuses to engage in talks with Putin," he concluded.
