Kusari-Lila: Irresponsible statement by Peter Stano that Kosovo has not done enough for de-escalation
The head of the Self-Determination parliamentary group, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, says that there are fundamental problems in the dialogue process, and points out that Kosovo is under EU Council measures and that there are no measures against Serbia, which, she notes, has caused violence and killings, Teve1 reports.
Kusari-Lila stated that the chief negotiator, Miroslav Lajcak, and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, should consider how to return to dialogue.
"With the serious shortcomings and spectacular failures of Borrell's chief negotiator Lajcak, without any reflection on the approach we have had in the process so far, of course, we cannot return with the same parameters to the dialogue. There must be a reflection," Kusari-Lila said.
She also deemed the statement by EU Spokesperson Peter Stano, who said that Kosovo had not done enough to de-escalate the situation in the north, as very irresponsible.
"It is entirely irresponsible for the EU spokesperson to say that Kosovo has not done enough to de-escalate the situation. Who escalated the situation in the north? It wasn't the competent Kosovo authorities, neither the government nor the police, nor any other institution," Kusari-Lila said.
