Lajcak: The agreement will not be binding without an agreement on the implementation annex

The representative of the European Union in the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Miroslav Lajcak, said after the meeting with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, that the parties in the dialogue had to agree on the implementation annex, otherwise, the agreement would not be binding, Gazeta Express reports.

He said that he had had a constructive and very important conversation with Prime Minister Kurti about how Kosovo saw the issue of implementing the agreement. Lajcak stated that the meeting had met his expectations regarding this aspect and that he now understood well what Kosovo's expectations were.

"We have to agree on implementation. Otherwise, the agreement will not be binding. We had a constructive and very important conversation with Kurti. I also met with President Vjosa Osmani. The main purpose of this meeting is to gain insight into how Kosovo sees implementation. This meeting fulfilled my expectations in this context," Lajcak said.

He announced that he would visit Belgrade with the same goal.

Lajcak also said that the last meeting in Brussels had been successful and that Kurti and Vucic had agreed that there was no need to discuss the content of the agreement anymore, Lajmi reported.

"The text is already public and everyone knows what it contains. We need to agree on how to implement it and know the steps, sequence, and time frames. Otherwise, it will only be a political agreement, not a formal one," he said.
