The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, told political representatives in Pristina that the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities would not be a non-governmental organization but would be formed in accordance with the agreement signed in Brussels.

"Representatives of the temporary institutions in Pristina have intensified their propaganda campaign with which they intend to make the concept of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities pointless, by persistently attempting to reduce it to the level of a non-governmental organization, although it is clear that Belgrade, in its efforts to create solid and reliable mechanisms to protect its position and the rights of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, will not deviate even one iota from the First Brussels Agreement and other acts from the dialogue that clearly define the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities," Petkovic said in a press release.

Petkovic says that the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities is not and will not be a non-governmental organization.

"Because, if that were the case, Pristina would not have worked tirelessly for years to avoid its obligations under the First Brussels Agreement. The CSM will not be what Besnik Bislimi or Albin Kurti want it to be, but will be formed according to what is signed in Brussels," Petkovic noted.

Petkovic states that the goal of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities is to ensure the survival and enable the prosperity of the Serbian people in Kosovo.

"And it understands that the CSM can only be established in the way it was defined in the Brussels dialogue, with essential authorizations, because neither Belgrade nor the Serbs in Kosovo would agree to anything less. The more they in Pristina resist creating of the conditions for the formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities with all the related responsibilities, the more determined we will be to resolve this critical issue," Petkovic concluded.
