Special Envoy of the European Union for the Serbia-Kosovo dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, stated in Davos that he had informed Brussels about Pristina's intention to suspend financial transactions with Serbia, expressing his belief that a solution would be found that would not have any negative consequences.

When asked if he was aware of Pristina's intentions to suspend financial transactions with Serbia, Lajcak said he had not only known about it but had raised the issue in a conversation with Kosovo's Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi, and he had asked him to provide answers to several essential questions.

"I have forwarded this information to Brussels, and our services are now analyzing the situation. We expect them to come out soon with a common position", Lajcak said.

When asked if it was dangerous, he replied that he was confident that it would not become a dangerous situation.

"I wouldn't want to give any assessments at this moment. I believe it will not become dangerous, and we will find a solution that will not have any negative consequences", Lajcak said.

Earlier, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucić stated that Pristina's announcements about suspending financial transactions and banning the use of the dinar were the most severe and significant threat to the dialogue so far, and he had requested support from Lajcak for the Serbs in Kosovo.
