Lawyer Predrag Miljkovic confirmed to Kosovo Online that the detention of Dusan Obrenovic, who had been arrested on May 29 in Zvecan, had been extended for another two months.

Miljkovic stated that he had received the decision from the Special Court in Pristina via email on Friday, extending Obrenovic's detention until December 27 of this year.

"This will be the fourth extension of detention. We believe that the court should have considered our appeals and our responses to the prosecution's requests and granted bail or some other milder measure to Obrenovic," Miljkovic said.

The lawyer said that his client Dusan Obrenovic, who had been in detention for five months, had been questioned by the prosecution on October 20.

"He gave a statement, and I believe that this should meet the conditions for his release pending trial. Today we have submitted an appeal to the Court of Appeals in Pristina, and we expect them to be more understanding," Miljkovic stated.

Obrenovic was arrested before the outbreak of the riots in Zvecan on May 29, under the accusation of attacking KFOR and Kosovo police officers.

During his police detention, he was brutally beaten by Kosovo Police officers, and after being placed in detention, he was transferred to the prison in Podujevo, where he remains to this day.

Belgrade-Pristina Liaison Officer Dejan Pavicevic previously stated that Obrenovic and Petrovic had been arrested even though there was evidence that they had not participated in any way in the events on May 29 in Zvecan, as KFOR had taken them away 20 minutes before everything had started.

Rados Petrovic was released on June 23 pending trial.
