Limaj: Kurti should renounce northern Kosovo after the elections without the participation of Serbs
NISMA President Fatmir Limaj believes that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti should renounce northern Kosovo, adding that the elections themselves were not democratic, Gazeta Express reports.
Limaj stated that Kurti should give up northern Kosovo after the elections, which had been boycotted by the Serbs.
As he states, the Government of Kosovo should resolve the political crisis caused by the resignations of Serbs from institutions and not organize elections when their epilogue is known.
"Serbs in Kosovo have been instrumentalized victims for decades, and they still have this problem from Belgrade. In many cases, we in Kosovo, through our actions, have enabled Belgrade to behave like this. Citizens are caught between two fires. That difficult situation for them continues. This is Kurti's best way to give up the northern part of Kosovo. Elections in themselves are not democratic, but only their holding is," Limaj said.
According to him, Prime Minister Kurti and President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic will continue with their political agendas.
"The citizens of Kosovo have lost; democracy has lost. The possibility of integration, coexistence, and citizenship has been lost. In Belgrade, Vucic announced the triumph of Serbian historical unity, and Kurti here announced the victory of the state and democracy," Limaj said.
