Maloku: The visit of the opposition leaders to Washington is not an indication of their close relations with the US

Analyst Albinot Maloku believes that the visit of opposition leaders Memli Krasniqi and Lumir Abdixhiku to Washington is not a clear indicator of the relationship between the two main parties with the US, Ekonomija online reports.

"I consider the visit of the leaders of the opposition parties, especially DPK and DLK, to Washington good, in terms of informing about the situation in Kosovo from a different angle, and not as an indicator of close relations." "The opposition parties tried to interpret that as a closer relationship with the US," Maloku said.

On the other hand, Maloku considers the fact that the US refused to issue visas to certain ministers from Kosovo a warning.

"I wanted to take it as a warning, that in crises the decision-makers should stay in Kosovo because that is more important than anything else. These barriers or a warning to the government about its actions can be interpreted that way," Maloku says.

Bekim Kabashi, an expert on political issues, believes that by refusing to issue visas, the US sent a kind of warning.
