Commenting on the Kosovo Government's decision to establish the Genocide and Freedom Struggle Museum, researcher Nikola Markovic from the Institute for International Politics and Economy raises the question of whether the crimes from World War II committed by members of the Hanxhar and Skenderbeg divisions against Serbs and Jews will also be studied in this museum.

"I would ask whether the genocide committed by the Hanxhar division, which also included Albanians, will be studied in this museum. I remind that this division operated from 1943 until the end of the war as part of German units in the territory of Bosnia and was mainly composed of Muslims, but there were also Albanians. It is recognized for many crimes," said Nikolic. He reminded that from this unit, a new one was later formed - the SS Skenderbeg division, which was composed exclusively of Albanians.

"In addition to crimes against Serbs, it also committed crimes against Jews, and in 1943 and 1944, they delivered a group of Jews. I would like to see whether these crimes will also be studied there," concluded Markovic.

The Kosovo government adopted the decision to establish the Genocide and Freedom Struggle Museum at yesterday's session.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced that this museum aims to document Serbian crimes in Kosovo.
