On the occasion of the beginning of the new school year, the Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government and President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for Presevo, Bujanovac, and Medvedja, Aleksandar Martinovic, visited the "Vuk Karadzic" and "Abdullah Krashnica" elementary schools in Presevo today, and on that occasion distributed school supplies to the first-grade students and schoolbags, and donated laptops to schools.
Martinovic reminded that the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and the entire Government of Serbia, as well as the Coordination Body, were firmly committed to ensuring that the Albanians living in this part of Serbia, primarily in Bujanovac and Presevo, were equal with all other citizens, and that the interest of the state was to foster good relations between the Serbs and the Albanians because this was the only guarantee of the progress of this part of the country.
"All citizens of Serbia who see it as their homeland are equal to the leadership of the state. It is important for us to cultivate harmony and togetherness, and the state will invest more resources so that young people can stay in the south of the country. Peace, harmony, and economic progress of this region are the policies led and advocated by the country's leadership," Martinovic pointed out and added that the Government had helped to establish an industrial zone of 13.5 hectares in Presevo and that it would also support bringing in investors, which would put this land into operation.
As announced by the Ministry, Martinovic emphasized that investing in children was the most important investment and that it was the task of the state and local governments to provide them with decent conditions for growing up and education.
He also announced the possibility that the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government would support the implementation of concrete projects in this municipality next year, and he also expressed his belief that a better standard of living for the citizens would influence the minimization of inter-ethnic disagreements in this part of Serbia.
The President of the Presevo Municipality Shqiprim Arifi expressed his satisfaction that the Minister and President of the Coordination Body for the South was interested in working on the prosperity and economic development of the Presevo Municipality. He pointed out that in addition to promoting peace and stability in this region, a lot should be done to improve the living conditions of all people in Presevo.
