Mojsilovic with Ulutas: We expect international security forces to take necessary steps for de-escalation.
Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilovic, met with the new KFOR Commander, Major General Ozkan Ulutas, in Belgrade today. On this occasion, he expressed his expectations that international security forces would take necessary steps to de-escalate the situation and protect the Serbian national, cultural, historical, and religious heritage.
As reported by the Serbian Ministry of Defense, the meeting included discussions on the current security situation in Kosovo and potential activities that could be undertaken to enhance peace and security in that region.
"General Mojsilovic emphasized during the discussion that, in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 and the Military-Technical Agreement, the Serbian Armed Forces recognize KFOR as the sole legitimate armed formation in Kosovo and Metohija. He expressed the expectation that international security forces would take the necessary steps to de-escalate the situation and protect the Serbian national, cultural, historical, and religious heritage," the announcement stated.
The Chief of the General Staff emphasized the importance of collaboration at all established levels between the Serbian Armed Forces and KFOR. The objective is to preserve security and prevent crises while fully and impartially executing the mandate conferred to KFOR by the United Nations Security Council Resolution.
