Nastic: The problem is not in Belgrade but at the head of the dangerous Government in Pristina
The problem was not in Belgrade, but at the head of the dangerous Government in Pristina, which not only harbored Greater Albanian fantasies but also incited ethnic conflicts in Kosovo, making peaceful coexistence impossible, Zaklin Nastic said, a member of the Left in the German Bundestag.
"While leading EU politicians, led by Michael Roth from the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), in a letter to the European Commission, call for a departure from 'Belgrade-centric politics' and thus try to take responsibility for tensions and conflicts only in the north of Kosovo, the Government in Belgrade, regardless of the media and political public in Germany, blames Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, whom the German "traffic light government" praised a lot, for the Greater Albanian mission in North Macedonia," Nastic wrote on the "X" network.
She reminds that the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, recently stayed in the private house of opposition Albanian parties in Tetovo, surrounded by Greater Albanian symbols and flags.
She pointed out that a diplomatic scandal followed, and that the governments of North Macedonia and Serbia, as well as the opposition parties there, had condemned it as "an attack on North Macedonia as a multi-ethnic state".
"Some are now even asking to declare him an 'undesirable person'. Especially bearing in mind the fact that the terrorist 'KLA' was already heavily armed in 2001 and tried to impose its Greater Albanian ideology on the then Macedonia, so the Macedonian Government's anger at Kurti's visit is more than understandable," she stated.
Nastic points out that in a letter to the European Commission, the initiators around Michael Roth recognize the state of 'Kosovo' as a 'functional democracy'.
"How well this 'democracy' works could be seen again recently - a few weeks ago, the Kosovo Government revoked the license of the leading private television station 'Klan Kosova'. A little later, a working license of Mts D.O.O., a subsidiary of the telecommunications operator Telekom Srbija, was revoked,” she wrote.
Nastic said that it was not surprising that there had been no criticism of the diplomatic scandal in North Macedonia or the censorship in Kosovo from the circles of the "traffic light coalition" in Germany, above all from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs led by the Greens. “After all, to this day they remain silent about arbitrary arrests, attacks, and attacks on Orthodox churches, which have increased significantly, especially since Kurti took power. Supporters of the fiery letter, who call for a "return to balance and proportionality in dealing with Kosovo and Serbia", should be told that the problem is not in Belgrade, but at the head of the dangerous Government in Pristina, which not only harbors Greater Albanian fantasies, but also incites ethnic conflicts in Kosovo and Metohija, making peaceful coexistence impossible," she underlined.
She pointed out that if even high-ranking diplomats such as the US Ambassador in Pristina or US Secretary of State Blinken considered the situation so serious that they had increased the pressure on Pristina with various measures, as happened recently, it should be clear to everyone.
"With the letter, the initiators want to construct a reversal between the perpetrator and the victim, and that is not only incredible but also dangerous. Anyone who now calls for a 'reconsideration of this approach' is playing into the hands of Kurti and his Government, with serious consequences for the security of minorities in the region," Nastic warned.
