Office for Kosovo and Metohija: Another Serbian police officer detained on Kurti’s orders, international community silent on the persecution

Another Serbian police officer was detained today at the Konculj administrative crossing, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced, stating that it is "shameful that the entire international community remains silent in the face of the unlawful expulsion and persecution of Serbs."
“At the Konculj administrative crossing today, on the orders of Albin Kurti, another Serbian police officer, J.A. from the village of Strelica in the municipality of Kosovska Kamenica, was detained. He is a family man employed by the police department in Vranje and has been traveling for years without issue between Kosovska Kamenica and Vranje, honorably performing his duties in central Serbia,” the statement reads.
They added that he was initially held at the administrative crossing and then transferred to a so-called deportation center in Pristina.
“The Office for Kosovo and Metohija has provided him with legal assistance and will inform international representatives about yet another unlawful detention and expulsion of a Serb employed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is shameful that the entire international community remains silent in the face of the unlawful expulsion and persecution of Serbs, whose basic human rights are being trampled and whose freedoms guaranteed by international conventions are being endangered,” the Office stated.
They reminded that this is the fifth case of politically motivated persecution of Serbs in recent days.
“They are victims of politically motivated actions by the regime in Pristina, which violates even its own regulations when it comes to harming Serbs,” the Office for Kosovo and Metohija concluded.
