Office for Kosovo and Metohija: Church of Saint Demetrius in Dobrotin broken into

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced that burglars broke into the Church of Saint Demetrius in Dobrotin last night, forced open the entrance door and stole a box containing money donated by worshippers. The statement emphasizes that such attacks are a consequence of Pristina’s extremist and anti-Serbian policies, which is why the Office for Kosovo and Metohija is demanding a more decisive and concrete reaction from international representatives and punishment for extremists.

The statement notes that last night’s attack was already the second on this shrine in recent years, considering that three years ago, the parish office in Dobrotin was also broken into.

“Attacks in central Kosovo and Metohija are becoming more frequent, so ten days ago graffiti of the terrorist organization KLA was written on the health center and kindergarten in Dobrotin, and recently the grave of Ivica Talic in Skulanovo near Lipljan was desecrated and the Serbian tricolor was taken from it”, the statement recalls.

The Office stresses that such attacks on Serbs, on the property of the Serbian Orthodox Church, as well as the desecration of Serbian graves, are a consequence of Pristina’s extremist and anti-Serbian policy, as well as a policy of failing to punish perpetrators who, as a rule, go without any sanctions for their crimes.

For that reason, they are calling for a more decisive and concrete reaction from international representatives.

“We demand a more decisive and concrete reaction from international representatives to the increasingly frequent attacks in central Kosovo and Metohija and the punishment of extremists, because only in that way can a stop be put to such ethnically motivated incidents, of which there have been more than 730 since Albin Kurti came to power. In the last year alone, 26 attacks were recorded targeting Serbian worshippers, cemeteries and facilities of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and such attacks have never been resolved”, the statement adds.
