Office for Kosovo and Metohija: Extremists do not even leave dead Serbs in peace, Talic’s grave desecrated again
The Office for Kosovo and Metohija stated today that the policy of impunity for extremists in Kosovo leads to repeated incidents and crimes, and that this is confirmed by the example of the repeated desecration of the grave of Ivica Talic at the Serbian Orthodox cemetery in the village of Skulanevo near Lipljan.
The statement says that Talic’s grave was desecrated again last night and that the perpetrators entered the cemetery grounds and took the Serbian flag from the grave mound of the recently deceased Talic.
The same incident, it is recalled, occurred 10 days ago, when on February 8 the Serbian tricolor was also taken, and on that occasion the fence of the churchyard was broken down.
“At that time, the perpetrators of this inhumane and anti-civilizational act were neither caught nor prosecuted, which is why the incident was repeated,” the statement reads.
According to the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, “extremists fueled by anti-Serb hatred and the policy of Pristina do not even leave dead Serbs in peace.”
“According to decades-long field research, in the past 26 years more than 400 Serbian cemeteries in Kosovo and Metohija have been devastated and desecrated, 50 have been completely destroyed, and over 100,000 gravestones have been demolished. Unfortunately, such a terrorist policy and social climate are still alive in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija today,” the statement says.
