The Office for Kosovo and Metohija: Shooting in Donja Bitinja highlights the horror of the daily life of the Serbs

Today's shooting in the center of the village of Donja Bitinja, in the municipality of Strpce, once again emphasizes the horror of the daily life of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, where hatred against the Serbs and everything Serbian is becoming increasingly widespread, the statement by the Office for Kosovo and Metohija of the Government of Serbia said.

"The perpetrator of this serious criminal act, an Albanian from Suva Reka, has shown a terrifying level of hatred, and it is a fact that all individual acts of violence against the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are based on an ideological matrix created day by day by the extremist regime of Albin Kurti in Pristina," the text adds.

The Office for Kosovo and Metohija emphasizes that the incident in the village of Donja Bitinja stands out among other similar acts of violence due to its absurdity, as the perpetrator, besides shooting to intimidate the Serbs, left a funeral wreath in the yard of a local Serbian house, and then, in the presence of the police, cursed the locals.

"On Kosovo and Metohija, daily ethnically motivated violence directed against the Serbs is ongoing, with recent incidents primarily targeting Serbian property, such as today's looting of M. Joksimovic's house in Radevo, Lipljan municipality. The fact that all these attacks are symptomatic of an anti-Serb social climate systematically created by Kurti's chauvinistic regime cannot be overlooked," the statement reads.

The Office emphasizes that Pristina does not seek to promote coexistence in mixed-nationality environments.

"Instead of treating Serbs as second-class citizens on a daily basis, efforts should be made to build and promote coexistence, especially in ethnically mixed communities in Kosovo and Metohija. However, such expectations cannot be placed on Kurti and his ideological followers," the Office for Kosovo and Metohija concludes.
