The Serb List: Pressure on the Serbs in the Sirinicka Zupa continues, with no accountability for the attacks
The Serb List stated that pressure on the Serbs in the Sirinicka Zupa continued and that the frequent incidents were a direct result of the anti-Serb narrative of the Albin Kurti regime, whose institutions, as stated, violated the rights of the Serbs every day, thereby setting an example for other extremists to behave towards Serbs in this manner.
Following the incident where an Albanian fired from a pistol in the center of the village of Donja Bitinja and placed a wreath on the house of Svetislav Stojkovic, the Serb List stated that this incident, which had been unprovoked, had caused unrest among the Serbs in the municipality of Strpce, where there were still fresh memories of last year's Christmas Eve when an Albanian member of the Kosovo Security Forces had shot and seriously injured Stefan and Milos Stojanovic.
"Given that to this day, the Albanian KSF member responsible for the attack on Stefan and Milos has not been punished, today a new incident occurred in which fortunately no one was injured, as there is an impression that armed or any other attacks on the Serbs are tolerated and that there is no accountability for such acts," the Serb List stated.
The statement emphasizes that the pressure on the Serbs in Sirinicka Zupa and the frequent incidents are a direct result of the anti-Serb narrative of the Albin Kurti regime, "whose institutions violate the rights of the Serbs every day, thereby setting an example for other extremists to behave towards Serbs in this manner."
"Our experience teaches us that Kosovo institutions, as before, will not do anything against this attacker, so we demand from EULEX and KFOR, as international organizations responsible for peace and security in these areas, to act preventively in accordance with their mandates and prevent further persecution and harassment of the Serbs. The time for statements has passed; we need clear and timely actions to prevent the exodus of the Serbs," the Serb List concludes.
