Petkovic: CSM is Pristina's obligation, the question is why Brussels allows Kurti to trample on the dialogue

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, said that Kurti is once again resorting to an old trick, attempting to justify his avoidance of the obligation to establish the CSM by claiming that the CSM is "Belgrade's wish."

Petkovic was responding to a statement by Kosovo's caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti that "the CSM that Belgrade wants would be a mechanism for challenging Kosovo's functionality from within."

"MP Kurti, the CSM is Pristina's obligation arising from the agreements reached in 2013 and 2015. Therefore, for 13 years now, the CSM has not been a matter of anyone's political will, but rather a matter of respecting signed agreements. Dialogue is not a buffet where Pristina can choose what it will respect and what it will not. We know very well why Pristina does not want the CSM, but the real question is why Brussels allows Kurti to trample on the Dialogue and why it refuses to put the CSM Statute on the agenda, which is the key step toward its establishment? There has not been a meeting in Brussels where I have not called for urgent talks on the CSM Statute to begin. If Kurti is running away from his obligation, Brussels should not run away from its signature," Petkovic wrote on the social network X.
