The detention of Aleksandar Trajkovic from Ugljare in the final stage of the election campaign is a new form of pressure on the Serbian people, especially in central Kosovo, with the sole aim – for Albin Kurti to help his favorite Nenad Rasic in the election race, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director Petar Petkovic said in a statement.

Petkovic further stated that it is clear that Rasic and Kurti are nervous because their election campaign, intimidation, blackmail, and threats toward Serbian voters in Kosovo are not enough to once again take a mandate away from the Serb List.

“They are now physically trying to prevent Serbs from participating in the elections and from supporting the Serb List, which is the only one working in the interest of our people. Trajkovic, who has been held in detention for up to 48 hours, has been provided with legal assistance, and the Office for Kosovo and Metohija is in contact with our representatives on the ground regarding this unlawful and shameful attack on a Serb List activist,” Petkovic said.

The director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija emphasized that no “false narratives by which Pristina is trying to discredit Trajkovic will succeed, because Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija know him very well and respect him, and Kurti will never be able to make Serbs love the traitor Rasic and those who sold out for personal gain.”

“As long as there is even one honest Serb in Kosovo and Metohija, he will vote against Rasic, Kurti, and those who do not wish anything good to the Serbian people, and he will stand with his state Serbia and the Serb List,” Petkovic concluded.

Kosovo Police searched the shop and family home of Aleksandar Trajkovic in Ugljare last night, after which he was detained for an informational interview.
