The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, said that Albin Kurti was trying in vain to escape from the obligation to form the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities by hiding behind some terms that he did not even understand because Pristina's commitments and previously reached agreements had to be implemented and there was no dilemma, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija announced.

Petkovic stated that Kurti "can say what he wants for his internal political use and tries to calm the heated political atmosphere and attacks in Pristina, but the obligation to form the CSM is clearly defined in four agreements from 2013 and 2015, which are for Kurti binding with every written letter".

"That's why there is no need for Osmani and Kurti to get involved and to invent new terms and unsustainable interpretations when they know very well what was signed 10 years ago in Brussels and what Kurti committed to in Ohrid. This was confirmed by the mediator in the dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, who unequivocally pointed out that the agreements on the CSM from 2013 and 2015 had to be implemented,” Petkovic said.

He pointed out that the already signed agreements that had been reached 10 years ago could not be renegotiated or revised, "no matter how much Kurti thought that he could buy himself additional time in avoiding obligations with language games".

"Kurti and Osmani are the last ones who should determine the level of the rights of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, given that their inaction and violations of the basic human and democratic rights of our people in the province are well known to everyone," Petkovic said.
