Petkovic with Konrad: Belgrade will not give up on the CSM

Petar Petkovic, Director of the Government of Serbia's Office for Foreign Affairs, met today with German Ambassador Anke Konrad, with whom he discussed the progress of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, as well as the political and security situation in Kosovo.
In the statement of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, it is stated that Petkovic emphasized that Belgrade, with clear limitations, remained sincerely interested in reaching a compromise solution in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, which would create the conditions for permanent stability and peace in the region.
According to his words, such a determination by Belgrade was not understood by the Pristina side this time either, which, as before, tried in every way to avoid the obligation to form the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities.
"Belgrade will persist in its efforts to provide solid and reliable mechanisms for the protection of the position and rights of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija, and therefore will not give up on the implementation of what was agreed in the Brussels Agreement, which primarily refers to the formation of the CSM," Petkovic pointed out.
Speaking about the threatened security and political problems faced by the Serbian people in Kosovo, Petkovic particularly emphasized the latest verdict against Ivan Todosijevic, with which Pristina continued to violate the Brussels Agreement with unilateral moves.
He informed his interlocutor about Pristina's unilateral violation of the agreement on license plates, which the EU had unequivocally confirmed in its statement.
"The Federal Republic of Germany, as an EU member and a country that is interested in a permanent solution to the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, can contribute to clearly supporting forces in the Western Balkans region that promote dialogue, cooperation, and common interests as a means of solving the problem," Petkovic stated.
