Petkovic: Kurti especially lies when addressing the Western public

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija denied the claims made by Albin Kurti for the Dutch newspaper NRC, which refer to the barricades in the north of Kosovo, alleged threats from Serbia and the implementation of the energy agreement.

"Albin Kurti lies like a dog, especially when addressing the Western public. The first lie: People in Russian uniforms were brought to the barricades by bus from Serbia. Answer: The Jarinje and Brnjak crossings were closed by the Kosovo Police on the first day of the barricades, and the roads were blocked. The only crossing where the buses could pass is Merdare, which is south of the Ibar. That means either Kurti let those non-existent buses go, or Kurti is lying like a dog. It must be the latter! Additionally, why doesn't Kurti show evidence? No he cannot, because there aren't any because they don't even exist!", Petkovic stated.

He stated that the agreement on the removal of barricades and the preservation of peace was brought by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, and the Serbian people in the north.

"So once again, all Kurti's lies that Belgrade wants to attack Kosovo for the last year have fallen. So how would Belgrade attack, when Vucic kept the peace. Kurti was the one who attacked all the time, by sending ROSU to the north. Another lie: Yes, if NATO was not present in Kosovo and Metohija, the Albanians would be massacred. Answer: The only nation that is attacked, persecuted and killed by Pristina is the Serbian people in Kosovo. And that suffering happened not only during the war, but also after, when KFOR and NATO were largely present in Kosovo and Metohija," the statement says.

The last such murder attempt, Petkovic stated, happened on Christmas Eve, when a member of the Kosovo Security Forces shot the child Stefan and the young man Milos while they were carrying a Christmas tree.

"Third lie: That economically Pristina is shedding blood due to non-payment of electricity in the north. Answer: The agreement on energy was reached at the insistence of Belgrade. In order for the license for Elektrosever to become operational, Pristina must fulfill its obligations, which includes the agreement on distribution services. That answer is still not there. And finally, if Kurti really cared about implementing the road map, he wouldn't have created a state of war in the north, built bases and endangered people's lives. When someone wants to implement the agreement, he creates the conditions for it and he does not send ROSU to occupy the north," Petkovic said.
