Petkovic: Kurti is the only one violating agreements; he cannot rewrite agreements that have been verified in Brussels

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, stated that Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti was the only one violating agreements and that he neither could nor knew how to write a single sentence without attacking the Serbs in Kosovo.

"The only one violating agreements is Albin Kurti, who entered 2024 denying the basic obligation of Pristina undertaken and signed in Brussels in 2013 regarding the formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, thereby starting the eleventh year of systematic and institutional disenfranchisement and oppression of the Serbs in Kosovo", Petkovic said.

He adds that Kurti cannot rewrite agreements signed and verified in Brussels 11 years ago, whose implementation is guaranteed by the European Union, nor can he write or say a single sentence without attacking Belgrade and the Serbs in Kosovo because that is the only policy he knows and lives for.

"If he's into counting, let him count that 3,919 days have passed since the formation of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities was not established and that the blockade of Serbian goods imports to Kosovo and Metohija has been going on for 211 days, trampling on all the principles of free flow. Let him count that just last year in Kosovo and Metohija, 178 ethnically motivated incidents were recorded, and since his arrival in power, a total of 458 different attacks on the Serbs, Serbian churches, clinics, schools... He can also count the six points of the Basic Agreement from Brussels guaranteeing the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities, as well as the 21 points of general principles for the formation of the Community. The numbers speak, indicating that six Serbs were shot in Kosovo and Metohija just last year, dozens were arrested, and over 10% of Serbs left due to his anti-Serbian policy", Petkovic emphasized.

He emphasizes that these are numbers that speak the best about Kurti and his rule, which he himself dares not mention, but Belgrade will always remind him of all his obligations and escalatory moves that, as he says, undermine peace and stability in the entire Western Balkans, making him the main source of instability, tension, and crises, both in Kosovo and beyond.

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that Serbia was violating the European proposal for the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina and that he had not promised to draft the statute of the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities.

During a press conference after a meeting with the Prime Minister of Ireland, Leo Varadkar, Kurti called on the EU to "react to Serbia's violation of the agreement", emphasizing that Kosovo insisted on signing as a guarantee for its respect.
