Petkovic told Kurti: It looks like you are lying; yesterday you ran away from the subject of missing persons
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, reacted to the statement of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti that by accepting the Declaration on Missing Persons, Serbia "recognized the crimes of the enforced disappearances during the war", telling him to "continue to excel as Besnik Bislimi did yesterday in Brussels, refusing to talk about shedding light on the fate of the missing persons".
"You continue to excel, Albin Kurti, just like yesterday the 'expert' Bislimi in Brussels, who refused to discuss the clarification of the fate of the missing persons, even though Belgrade insisted on it. It looks like you are lying because you ran away from the subject of missing persons yesterday," Petkovic wrote on Twitter.
In a written statement delivered to the media, Petkovic pointed out that after yesterday's round of dialogue in Brussels, "it is abundantly clear that Pristina has no intention of constructively discussing, not only about the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities but also about any other aspect of the normalization of relations".
"Albin Kurti, to put it mildly, is joking and laughing in the face of all participants in the dialogue, including the EU representatives, by blaming Belgrade for the stall in the negotiations, and that only a day after the representative of Pristina, Besnik Bislimi, behaved not only unconstructively, but also arrogantly in the talks," Petkovic emphasized.
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija states that Belgrade has been consistently approaching the dialogue for years in good faith and in a constructive manner, considering that the normalization of relations with Pristina is in mutual interest and can support this with irrefutable arguments at any time.
Kurti and his extremist circle in Pristina, as Petkovic adds, are not interested in solving problems and disagreements by civilized and political means, but exclusively in violence and unilaterally changing the situation on the ground, including constant provocation, endangering the security and rights of the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.
"It is high time for Kurti to discipline himself, not only to stop openly and publicly undermining the dialogue process but also to prevent him from clearly intending to destabilize the region," Petkovic emphasized.
