Petkovic: We received never stronger guarantees for the demands of the Serbs
At the moment when we were on the verge of a serious conflict and bloodshed, we managed to keep the peace, we received never stronger guarantees from the EU and the USA, said today the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petković.
"Nevertheless, good news at the end. I say this without any exultation because we are aware of the situation of the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija. We have never received stronger guarantees when it comes to the demands of the Serbs regarding their condition to withdraw from the barricades. At the very beginning to point out that the best news is that Dejan Pantic was released. This shows that Dejan Pantic is not guilty, that being accused of terrorism means Kurti's showdown with the Serbs. We hope he will be with his family tonight, who are eagerly waiting to see him. We could immediately hear Kurti and his party talking about treason and threatening the judges who made that decision. Can you imagine President Vucic commenting on court verdicts in such a way," said Petkovic.
Petkovic pointed to the reaction of Albin Kurti and his Self-Determination, who pointed out that the release of Pantic was an act of treason, as well as that Kurti threatened the prosecutors and judges who made such a decision, wanting to know who those judges were, who made such a decision.
"Can you imagine that President Aleksandar Vucic comments on court verdicts in such a way and asks who the prosecutors and judges who make the decisions are. We in Serbia have a legal state where respect for the rule of law is at work, which is sacred to us. How does it work? In the Pristina system we could see the example of Kurti, who would now carry out some kind of retribution on the Pristina judiciary. Obviously, no other court exists but the Marxist one, and Kurti is the one who decides on life and death, and who is a traitor and who is not ", he said.
He said that President Vucic had heard from Dejan Pantic's wife, who thanked him with tears and warm words.
"This is what shows the politics of the state of Serbia and President Vucic.
While some in the previous period fought for the release of 1,800 Albanian terrorists, including Kurti, we see how President Vucic is fighting sincerely for the Serbian people. We raised everything and showed that Pantic is not a terrorist and that he cannot be blamed for the fact that he lives in the "Three Solitaires" building, where the office for local elections is located," he explained.
He also said that the important news was that Nikola Nedeljkovic arrived in the territory of central Serbia, and was awaited by his parents.
He showed a photo of Nedeljkovic, in the arms of his parents, wearing a T-shirt with the inscription "No Surrender", the very one for which he was arrested in Gazimestan.
"We fought to show the world what is happening in the case of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija who are clearly declaring themselves terrorists when they raise the Serbian flag. We managed to shorten the scandalous prison sentence for Nedeljkovic, who was with his family in Sremcica before New Year and Christmas", he added.
