The former ambassador of Kosovo in Italy, Albert Prenkaj, told ABC News that the decision to cancel the dinar harms the image of Kosovo, adding that the government of Albin Kurti is acting amateurish.

He pointed out that Kurti's government is endangering relations with allies.

"The decision on the dinar aims to create problems," Prenkaj is convinced.

According to him, such a move takes Kosovo back.

"Serbia is trying to equate Kosovo with the Milosevic’s period. This decision about the dinar puts us on the same level, and that was one of the worst periods for the mass departure of the Albanian population due to crimes against humanity. This is the discourse of the Government of Serbia, which the Government of Kosovo enables by giving it arguments", stated Prenkaj.

As he says, the warnings of the US are clear, since the government is acting like an amateur.

"We have to get back to coordination with America," Prenkaj pointed out.
