Radojevic: Serbs have two options, to surrender and disappear, or to defend themselves in a democratic manner
Former Mayor of North Mitrovica and member of the Serb List, Milan Radojevic, commented on the arrest of another Serbian individual from Leposavic, stating that the terror of Kosovo's Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs, Albin Kurti and Xhelal Svecla, continues, who, according to him, condemn Serbs even though there is evidence of their innocence.
Radojevic told TV Pink that Serbs in northern Kosovo are frightened as the terror from Pristina continues day by day.
Radojevic reminds that Kurti, by referring to those who participated in the protests as a fascist militia that should be arrested or expelled, announced the arrests.
He adds that unfortunately, the reaction of the international community is not seen in action.
"We have video footage and pictures that prove that these people did not participate in the incidents they are accused of, but that doesn't stop Kurti and Svecla from immediately accusing and judging them, saying that they are a criminal gang, a fascist militia. We expected a reaction from the international community, but we didn't receive it or any change in the situation on the ground. On the contrary, the situation is getting worse day by day," Radojevic emphasized.
He highlighted that undercover police officers are present in municipalities in northern Kosovo, monitoring prominent Serbs and profiling individuals, and then searching for them at night alongside ROSU forces.
"The hunt for Serbs in northern Kosovo has been open for a long time. Serbs are trying to maintain a peaceful situation, but it is not possible. Citizens expect protection, and we see that we don't have it from the international community or from KFOR, which should take control in northern Kosovo and withdraw the special units. I am concerned about the situation, and I fear that this is not the worst. Difficult days are ahead of us, the situation can escalate," Radojevic said.
According to him, the pressure on the Serbian people continues.
"I think Kurti will not stop with the pressure; he will go to the point until there are casualties. At this moment, the international community does not want to stop him, they don't want to stop this violence against Serbs, and there are two options for Serbs: either we accept what is happening to us and disappear, or we defend ourselves democratically. We must protect our families. We are reaching a point where they will break into our homes and start arresting us," Radojevic conveyed.
Regarding the ban on Serbian goods import, Radojevic says that if the situation is not resolved soon, it will become alarming.
The functioning of the Mitrovica Hospital Center, which relies on supplies of medicine, materials, and oxygen from central Serbia, is also a concern. We are entering a very dangerous situation, and unfortunately, the end of this crisis is not in sight. Our eyes are on Belgrade, the state of Serbia. We see that we don't have the protection of the international factor, so we expect protection and salvation from the state of Serbia. We hope there will be progress that will bring about substantial changes in the situation on the ground," Radojevic concluded.
