Candidate for mayor of North Mitrovica, Milan Radojevic, says that the removal of the “I Love K. Mitrovica” sign is yet another provocation by Albin Kurti and outgoing mayor Erden Atiq.

Radojevic said that the sign, beloved by all citizens of Mitrovica, was taken down.

“This is yet another provocation aimed at destabilizing our city. We call on the citizens of North Mitrovica to remain calm, not to fall for provocations, and to express their will in the elections on October 12, when we will return our city to our people. The people of Mitrovica will show how much they love this city. At this spot, there used to be a sign reading ‘I Love Kosovska Mitrovica.’ Kurti’s regime and outgoing mayor Erden Atiq are showing how much they hate our city. That is why, on October 12, let us all, together, united and in solidarity, show how much we love our city and return it into the right hands,” Radojevic wrote in an Instagram post.

This morning around 9:30 a.m. in North Mitrovica, the “I Love K. Mitrovica” sign located on King Peter I Street was removed.

Unknown individuals arrived in a van and took down the sign near the first roundabout at the entrance to the city.

Kosovo Police were present at the scene.
