Rakocevic: They are settling scores with the last remnants of the Serbian administration in the enclaves

President of the Association of Journalists of Serbia, Zivojin Rakocevic, stated that Pristina was striking the Serbs in Kosovo in three ways: through the Serbian Orthodox Church, the arrest of the Serbs, and the crackdown on the north, destroying the last remnants of the Serbian administration in the enclaves.

"There are three basic and most important blows to the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija. The first is the Serbian Orthodox Church, the second is the innocent people in prisons, and the third is the crackdown on the north and the destruction of the last remnants of the Serbian administration in the ghettos that have helped us survive all these years. There are no laws, and no one respects anything, so it is possible for every official to do whatever they want based on what is called the deferred use of the dinar," Rakocevic said for Kosovo Online.

He added that in Gorazdevac yesterday, the postman could have been arrested, and anyone could be arrested.

"Because there are perfect laws here and their perfect non-application, and we are somewhere in between as victims, as targets, as people outside the law. Everything has been taken from us, everything except life. When they take away all your laws and rights, life remains, and just when you think there is nothing to take from that life, enough creativity and evil are found to make your life meaningless and to be taken directly from it. What is happening now is the direct taking from life," he said.

When asked if the Serbs could expect help from America and the West in this situation, Rakocevic says that the United States has many policies.

"One policy says, 'Please, do not do this to the Serbs,' and another policy says, 'Continue and finish the war of 1999, continue with the project to complete Kosovo because you do not have much time'. Whichever administration comes after this one in America, will not leave Kosovo in its current state. Therefore, until the American elections, continue and finish everything that we started with bombing in 1999," Rakocevic stated.

He notes that yesterday's events show that there is no democratic potential in Kosovo, that Kosovo cannot function independently without a protectorate, and that Pristina institutions must have international tutors.

"This shows that these institutions need a lot of time to develop, and 25 years have obviously been too little," he said.

He emphasizes that doing such things to a group on the verge of survival for 25 years, as well as the raid on Osojane, signifies cynicism, arrogance, and the absence of any basic morality.

"Many of these people participated in or supported the burning of their houses, and then they took everything away from them again with long guns. We have come to the point where they take away icons, and photos and do not allow municipal workers to keep icons and photos of Patriarch Pavle. This is the peak of cynicism and the peak of a totalitarian attitude towards everyone who does not resemble Albanians. But, on the other hand, we must understand that America has invested much more in Kosovo than the Albanians, and they will not give up on those highways of theirs," Rakocevic concluded.
