Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama said that KFOR was not an occupying force in Kosovo; instead, they were international units ensuring peace, and that those who did not understand this justified themselves with accusations at the expense of Serbia, even declaring him a public enemy for requesting KFOR to take control of northern Kosovo.

“The one who thinks that my demand for KFOR to assume control in the north jeopardizes Kosovo's sovereignty, should explain to the Albanians why the border network in northern Kosovo is torn apart on all sides. How has a large quantity of weapons easily entered the region for years? KFOR is not an occupying force in Kosovo; it is an international force unit that liberated Kosovo. Why is northern Kosovo not a 'no man's land' when illegal criminal activities thrive there, when there is no control, and no one can predict what will happen tomorrow?" Rama asked during a session in the Albanian Assembly.

He added that many attacked him, claiming that his request had undermined the dignity of the Albanians.

"They attack me to tarnish my dignity with baseless accusations, describing me as an agent and a spy among the enemies of the people. This is where we are now. Justifying themselves with accusations at the expense of Serbia, they produce public enemies who are not usual names, and one of them is the Prime Minister of Albania, the nation's traitor, Edi Rama," Rama said in his address to the parliamentarians.
