Rukiqi: Economic situation very serious, the government does not want to admit it

Berat Rukiqi, former president of the Chamber of Commerce of Kosovo, assessed that the economic situation in Kosovo is very serious, and, as he added, due to the government's inaction, the pockets of citizens continue to be burdened, and they are in a worse situation than two years ago, Ekonomia Online reports.

"To react, you must admit that you have a crisis. If you ask citizens today if they are better off in terms of living costs compared to two years ago, everyone will certainly answer that they are in a much more difficult economic situation. It would be normal for that to be some kind of alarm for the government to take action," Rukiqi, who is also a member of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, stated.

He notes that the government does not want to admit that there is an economic crisis.

"When the government assumes power, it is obliged to ensure that the lives of citizens improve, that citizens have the ability to cover the cost of living, and unfortunately, the government does not accept that there is an economic crisis in our country, which is at a delicate point because it directly affects the pockets of citizens, and that is the continuous increase in prices in the last two years, inflation," Rukiqi said.
