Schiebel discusses challenges facing municipalities with mayors in northern Kosovo

EU Ambassador to Kosovo Dirk Schiebel met with the mayors of the four municipalities in northern Kosovo to discuss challenges affecting the municipalities’ ability to provide services to citizens, as well as the need for better cooperation between institutions at the central and local levels.

Schiebel wrote on the social media platform X that, as part of his efforts to expand his activities beyond Pristina, he had met today with the mayors of the four municipalities in northern Kosovo.

“We discussed challenges affecting municipalities’ ability to deliver services to citizens, as well as the need for better cooperation between institutions at the central and local levels, which contributes to Kosovo’s European integration,” Schiebel said.

He stressed that the EU, as Kosovo’s strongest partner and largest provider of financial assistance, would continue to support the development of local democratic governance throughout Kosovo.

“I look forward to visiting the rest of Kosovo as well,” he said.
