The Serb List: Kurti's anti-Serb regime is not working on de-escalation; our struggle has not stopped

The Serb List has stated that even after four months since the European Council had demanded de-escalation in northern Kosovo, the regime of Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti was doing nothing on this matter and was not taking any responsibility and that the peaceful, political, and democratic struggle for the survival of the Serbs in Kosovo had not stopped and it would not stop.

The Serb List claims that the "anti-Serb regime of Kurti" received open support in the persecution of the Serbs.

"Once again, the old narrative that the Serbs are to blame for everything has been revived, and of course, in this sense, none of the international representatives are asking how the Serbs are surviving in these inhumane conditions today. What about the arrested Serbs, incarcerated in casemates across Kosovo and Metohija without any evidence, and what about the cases in which Serbs and Serbian children were shot? Why are those who fired from official firearms at Stefan and Milos in Strpce, Srecko Sofronijevic, Miljan Delevic, Milan Jovanovic, Dragisa Galjak, still at large?" the statement reads.

The Serb List points out that there hasn't been a word from international representatives about the impending humanitarian catastrophe at the Clinical Hospital Center in Kosovska Mitrovica, why Serbian babies cannot receive vaccines in the 21st century, and how it's possible that Serbs in northern Kosovo have been ghettoized for nearly 20 days, with the entire area and all residents, from children and students to elderly citizens and patients, effectively imprisoned.

They emphasize that the closure of the Jarinje administrative crossing has "cut the umbilical cord" that signifies life for the Serbs in northern Kosovo, as it has hindered normal supplies of food, medicine, and goods for months.

"It is evident that the crimes of Kurti's anti-Serb regime are quickly forgotten, and those who harassed and shot at Serbs upon his orders are declared heroes, all in plain view of Brussels and the countries of the Quint, EULEX, KFOR, UNMIK, OSCE...," the Serb List states.

They ask what international representatives are afraid of and why they remain silent, passively watching as the Serbs are arrested every day, and subjected to harassment, houses are being broken into, and property seized.

"Why is no one allowed to say that Kurti's Special Forces have created illegal bases in the north, expanding them every day, with exclusively Albanians in these bases, within predominantly Serb areas? How is it possible that in two years Kurti has not revoked a single anti-Serb decision if the international community is genuinely sincere in calling for de-escalation, and when will EULEX publish a report on the processes they are monitoring in which the Serbs are suspects? We are still baffled that our fellow citizens are being held in custody for months without any charges being filed," the statement emphasizes.

The Serb List notes that nine years after the Kosovo conflict, the international community's hypocrites have had enough time to create and support the unilateral declaration of Kosovo. Yet, they have taken more than ten years to form the Community of Serb-majority Municipalities.

"After all these questions, which will naturally remain unanswered, the question arises as to why no one from the Serbian opposition has ever reacted to the shooting of the Serbs, arrests without evidence, land seizures through false expropriation, bans on vaccination, and the procurement of medicine and medical supplies, bans on elections and referendums... Why have they never written a letter to international officials about any of these cases, and how is it possible that they were so quick to draft a letter filled with lies to attack President Aleksandar Vucic and their own country? The answer is simple, their masters ordered them to do so," the Serb List states in its press release.

Addressing the citizens, the Serb List conveys that the peaceful, political, and democratic struggle for the survival of the Serbs in Kosovo has not and must not cease.

"This is the struggle of each of us for the future of our descendants. We do not seek anything that belongs to others. The circumstances have never been more challenging, but that is not a reason to give up. Under the pressure of the regime of Albin Kurti and his mentors, we must not give up. We call for unity and solidarity. Aware of all the challenges, it is clear today more than ever that our unity is our most powerful weapon, and by deciding to stay on our hearths, we show that the sacrifices of all those who have suffered from today and for years and decades in the past have not been in vain," the Serb List concludes.
