Serb List: Unfounded arrests in Zubin Potok and Zvecan are part of a campaign to intimidate Serbs

Today’s unfounded and brutal arrests of Serbs in Zubin Potok and Zvecan represent a continuation of the organized terror of Albin Kurti’s regime against the Serbian people in Kosovo, the Serb List stated.

According to the party, Kosovo Police special units, fully equipped for combat, stormed Serbian homes in the early morning hours, breaking doors and spreading fear and panic among citizens.

“This is a blatant show of force and an attempt to intimidate our people. Such actions represent an open form of political retaliation against the Serbian population in northern Kosovo and Metohija following the convincing victory of the Serb List in the recent elections — an expression of Pristina’s nervousness and helplessness as it tries to make up for its electoral defeat by persecuting innocent people, all as part of preparations for the second round of local elections, in which Kurti wants to win in some municipalities, aware that he has nothing else to offer voters except hatred toward Serbs,” the statement reads.

They emphasized that representatives of the Serb List are in contact with the families of the detainees and that full legal assistance has been provided to all those unlawfully arrested.

“Bearing in mind the upcoming second round of local elections and the ongoing crisis in Pristina, we call on our people to remain calm and united, because truth and justice are on our side. No intimidation campaign will break the spirit of the Serbian people or our determination to remain on our ancestral land. It is up to us to protect one another and preserve the peace that we so desperately need,” the Serb List stated.

As announced earlier by the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, seven Serbs were detained in Zubin Potok and Zvecan.

The Special Prosecutor’s Office of Kosovo ordered searches at nine locations in Zubin Potok and Zvecan this morning as part of what it described as an investigation into organized crime and serious criminal offenses.
